Kinja'd!!!

So I’m out driving my car (pictured) less than fully responsibly, trying to wash off the boring from my mother’s CR-V purchase. In particular I’m enjoying all 349  horsepower and the sounds that come with all those ponies.

At a stoplight I notice one of Cobb County’s finest rolling up next to me, and I think “oh shit, did he see what I just did at the last light?” I often worry in particular because I have a really dark tint (applied by the dealer before I found the car).

I get cop side eye and... a big grinning thumbs up. Then he tore off and showed me all the HP that cop spec Taurus can muster.

I always hate that sinking feeling you get when you see a cop immediately after some spirited driving.

Different still, seeing a cop right before you’re thinking of pushing the go-peddle to the floor.

Glad he was impressed by your ride, I’ve loved those two-doors since they debuted. Pretty cool he gunned it at the light too, always fun to see cops push it for fun, as long as they’re being safe.

You’ re in Atlanta?

I’m in east Atlanta. The cops don’t really bother you down here for traffic infractions . They have too many other, more serious, distractions.

Yeah I’m in very east Cobb, where they have not much better to do. Not that they’ll come enforce the speed limit on my neighborhood streets mind you .

Nardo is RS only. This is Quantum, which is a little greener.

I guess. They get up and go when they want to.

We are looking at moving to west Cobb. Couldn’t care less about schools and  it would be nice to not live down the road from some pretty high crime rate areas.

I left my Abarth at a shop that mainly works on classic Porsches. Long story short, they were the closest place to limp it to and agreed to throw it on a lift and check for damage from whatever I ran over.

They called me yesterday to say they hadn’t had a chance to look it over yet but they wanted me know how much they all liked the sound of it. Made me feel a  lot better about the whole situation!

I lived in Inman Park for 12 years, and VaHi and N Midtown before that, but my wife and I both grew up in East Cobb. I only found my way back here when I took a job in Alpharetta a few years ago. My kids are doing well here, but we still miss our in town life too.

We are in very East Cobb, so downtown Roswell is where we go out. West Cobb is out there.  West Cobb and East Cobb are two different beasts.

The only Fiat shop in town I trust is the Mclaren/Alfa/Maserati dealer so it can’t get much worse.

True. I’ve lived in buckhead, vinings , dunwoody, and now grant park in east Atlanta.

We don’t have kids and we never will and we’re tired of paying a premium for homes and taxes when we don’t use anything in our area and I work near SunTrust park.

So we’re hoping to get something bigger and more spacious in a lower demand area. We thought about east Cobb, but the drive to my work isn’t as painless as west Cobb.

The only downside to west Cobb is the lack of good grocery stores. But the same can be said of East Atlanta.

Most of them are not, but the awd EcoBoost is available.

Police interceptor came in 3.5l na fwd, 3.7l na awd, 3.5 EcoBoost awd.

Cobb county may have some EcoBoost, but the officer I spoke to a while ago had the 3.7l.

The caprice PPV was also available with the 3.6 V6 and cost the same as the L77 6.0l, strangely enough.

But they are both discontinued now, so all that is left is the Charger

If my work wasn’t the other direction, I could do west Marietta near the battlefield. My wife has a crush on the historic houses closer to downtown Marietta.

I haven’t seen any come for sale but that’s roughly where we are looking. We’ve also been looking at some of the large plots in mableton and whatnot.

If Mableton is ok, what about Paulding?

Thats a little too far. Mableton is about 20 minutes. Paulding is about double that.

I’d probably sooner do Kennesaw. That’s only about 25 mins without traffic but closer to 45-50 during rush hour.

My current commute is 30 minutes without traffic though and it could only be worse if I was still forced to take 400.

East cobb wouldn’t be too bad of a drive, but I feel I can get more home for our money if we go west.

I’ve got 3000 sq feet on .54 acres in a full amenity subdivison , and paid less than $270k 6 years ago. We’ve put about $120k into it since, but it’s worth more than $500k now. I think it depends on what you are looking for and your appetite for projects. One thing you’ll get where the schools are good is resale value.

I think we’re looking at turnkey and modern craftsman right now. 3k and .5 is about what we want and we’re aiming for 4-500, unless we find something really nice. We’d also love a modern ranch, but they are hard to come by
